Peacemaker
In reading Richard Quinney's and Harold Pepinsky's view of criminology as peacemaking it make me wonder what social instituations, like universities would look like. How would the conveying of knowlede take place when it is said that teaching and learning is to be obedient and justifies violene in our society. Would professors lose their status as superiors in their field? Maybe, it would be suggestion that takes the place of assignments and deadlines. Are grades another form of the state subjugating a certain group of people similar? You are definitely assigned a certain status because of the grades that are pushed on you. I guess my main question is how does the acquisition of knowledge fit into a society with no crime because of the peace reached through empathy?
